Pricing, stated in full
Eva's Log is free to start, and everything you log stays free to read. Premium is there for when you want to keep adding entries after your free time, add another child yourself, start a new pregnancy record after a birth, or make exports like the pediatrician report or a CSV of your data.
Free
There's no account to make. Each free period starts on the day described below, and the entries you add later don't move it.
What you can add for free
- 60 days of new baby entries, counted from the day of your first one
- Three months of pregnancy diary entries, counted from the day you start your pregnancy record
- Cycle tracking, with no time limit
Never needs Premium
- Reading everything you've logged, with your full history and charts
- The bleeding log, the contraction timer and the movement counter
- Your journal and your check-ins
- Inviting caregivers
- Night mode and crisis resources
- Home and Lock Screen widgets
- The worry page as a PDF, and a PDF of a pregnancy record you end with “End this pregnancy record”
- Deleting timeline entries, or erasing everything on your phone
A new baby entry made from a widget or with Siri counts as logging, so it follows the same 60 days.
Premium
The annual plan works out to about half the price of paying monthly.
What it adds
- New baby entries after your 60 days, and new pregnancy diary entries after your three months
- Adding another child yourself (babies added when you tap “The baby is here” are free)
- A new pregnancy record after a birth
- The exports, such as the pediatrician report, appointment prep, the first-year keepsake, your pregnancy letters and a CSV of your data
- Apple Family Sharing, so one subscription covers everyone in your Family group
- Premium on the phones of the co-parents, grandparents and sitters who share your child
Both plans renew automatically until you cancel. The app shows the price and the renewal period before you pay, and you manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings.
Outfits for your child's picture
Separately from Premium, the clothes, coats, costumes and other things your child's picture can wear or hold are one-time purchases through the App Store: $1.99 for something for the head or feet, a bib, glasses or a toy, $2.99 for clothes or a coat, and $4.99 for a costume. Two on each shelf come free (three on the toy shelf), 17 in all, and the First birthday outfit unlocks on your child's first birthday. Premium doesn't include outfits, and an outfit never unlocks Premium.
Each outfit is bought once for your Apple ID, every child in the app can wear it, and Family Sharing covers it. Holiday items are in the shop only in their season, and you keep any you bought. To bring them back on a new iPhone, open a locked outfit and tap “Restore purchases”.
Prices are in US dollars and are the ones set ahead of launch. Eva's Log isn't on the App Store yet, so nothing is for sale today.
Fair questions
Premium is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Both plans renew automatically until you cancel, and the app shows the full price and the renewal period before you pay. There's no introductory price on either plan.
With a baby, you have 60 days of new entries, counted from the day you log your first one. While you're expecting, you have three months of pregnancy diary entries, counted from the day you start your pregnancy record. Cycle tracking has no time limit. The entries you add later don't move either start date. A caregiver you invite to share your child doesn't get a new 60 days, because their phone's free time ends no later than your household's. If your 60 days have already ended, recording a birth with “The baby is here”, or recording a loss, gives seven days of new baby entries, once for each pregnancy record.
Only adding new entries of that kind needs Premium. Everything you've already logged stays on your phone and stays free to read, with your full history and charts. The bleeding log, the contraction timer, the movement counter, your journal and your check-ins never ask for Premium, and cycle tracking never needs it either.
Nothing you already had goes away. Every entry stays, and reading and charting stay free. What pauses is adding new entries after your free time, adding another child yourself or a new pregnancy record after a birth, and making new Premium exports. Anything you exported before is still yours.
No. Inviting a co-parent, a grandparent or a sitter is free, and a parent's Premium covers everyone who shares your child. You choose whom to invite, but the link itself carries no role and anyone who has it can join, so send it only to the person it's for and check the Sharing screen once they've joined. Sharing needs every phone involved to be signed in to iCloud. It's a new part of Eva's Log, so if an invite doesn't arrive, please write to us at support@evaslog.com.
Both plans support Apple Family Sharing, so one subscription covers everyone in your Apple Family group.
A parent's subscription also covers everyone who shares your child. A co-parent, a grandparent or a sitter you invite gets Premium on their own phone without buying anything. Each renewal reaches their phones the next time the paying parent opens Eva's Log, and until then their Premium carries on for up to three days past the renewal date.
Purchases go through Apple, so you manage them in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Eva's Log. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your plan renews. If Premium doesn't show up on a new phone, open the Settings tab in Eva's Log and tap “Restore Purchases” in the Subscription section. Refunds are requested from Apple.
Your records live on your phone, and an iCloud Backup of your phone, if you keep one, holds all of them. Eva's Log has no accounts and no servers of ours, and nothing you log is ever sent to Atlas Peak Media. If you create or accept a caregiver invite, the timelines of the children on your phone, including each child's profile and birth details, are also copied to your own iCloud, and the timeline of the child an invite is for is copied to the phones of the people who join it. Your journal, your recovery and check-ins, and what you log while trying or pregnant are kept in a separate store on your phone. Eva's Log never copies that store to iCloud and never shares it with caregivers. Apart from what's on your child's profile when you share (such as gestational age at birth), the only pregnancy details Eva's Log puts in iCloud are the few dates described below.
Eva's Log also keeps a few dates in iCloud's small key-value storage. So that reinstalling doesn't reset your free time, it keeps the day you first logged for a baby, the day you started your first pregnancy record and, after a pregnancy ends, the day it ended. When another pregnancy begins, that last date becomes how long the diary was paused. It also keeps the day you first got the app. None of them holds an entry. The privacy page has the whole picture.
Logging and reading happen on your phone, so they don't wait on a connection. A few things need a connection: scanning a food or formula barcode looks the product up, caregiver sharing keeps everyone's phones in step, and buying or restoring Premium goes through the App Store. The privacy page lists everything the app sends and where.
Premium includes exports such as the pediatrician report, appointment prep, the first-year keepsake, your pregnancy letters and a CSV of your data. A few need no Premium: the worry page as a PDF, the 12-month cycle record that comes with a cycle notice, and the first-year keepsake while grief mode is on. If you end a pregnancy record with “End this pregnancy record”, you can save it as a PDF without Premium, then or later from its history.
Deleting never needs Premium. Feeds, sleeps, diapers and the other entries on the timeline can be deleted from their row or their edit screen, and the Settings tab has “Delete all data” under Your data, with three steps to confirm. Erasing wipes Eva's Log's data on your phone and tells a paired Apple Watch to forget your child the next time it connects. If your iPhone is online and signed in to iCloud, it also tries, for about ten seconds, to end the sharing it started and to leave any household it joined. It keeps one date, the day you first logged for a baby, so that erasing doesn't reset your free time. If you've shared, the privacy page explains what erasing reaches in iCloud, what it can't, and what happens to your caregivers' copies.
It covers trying, pregnancy and parenting in one app. When the test says yes, tap “I'm pregnant” and your cycle history stays. Adding your first child and starting your first pregnancy record don't need Premium. Adding a child yourself when you already have one does, and so does a new pregnancy record once any earlier pregnancy record in the app ended in a birth. A pregnancy that ended in a loss never counts toward this, so after a loss the next record is free unless an earlier one ended in a birth. Babies you add when you tap “The baby is here” are always free, twins and triplets included, and so are twins or triplets you enter together when you first set up.
Take your time deciding
Start with the free time, log the way you would anyway, and decide about Premium later with your own records in front of you. Neither plan has an introductory price or a limited-time offer to hurry you.
